Statue of Saint Vincent, deacon and martyr

Saint Vincent was a deacon of the Bishop of Saragossa, Saint Valerius. During the Great Persecution of the Emperor Diocletian, both Saints were brought to Valencia, where Saint Vincent was tortured to death (on 22th January 304), meanwhile Saint Valerius was sent into exile. Saint Vincent is the main Patron Saint of the Diocese and the city of Valencia. In the ambulatory of this Cathedral, his left arm is venerated. His feast day is on 22th January.
