Stained glass with couples
Commemorative stained glass for the 700th anniversary of the first stone laying of the Cathedral. It took place in 1262 when the Bishop of Valencia was Brother Andrew of Albalat, therefore his seal impression is found at the top of the stained glass window. Beside it, we can regard the seal impression of the Archbishop Olaechea, as this stained glass window was made in his pontificate (in the year 1962).
The married couples
The heads represent the married couples which have been chiseled as corbels in the cornice of the Romanesque door of the Cathedral, also called the Palace door and the Almoina door (13th century)
Description
They can be couples bound to the history of the repopulation of Valencia after its conquest in the 13th century by the King of the Crown of Aragon James I the Conqueror, or maybe they are the benefactors of this above-named Romanesque entrance gate.
