Floor plan and terrace of the Cathedral
Introduction
The Cathedral of Valencia is a Gothic-style building, with three naves, whose transept is covered by a lantern tower, ambulatory and polygonal apse.
Structural evolution
The progressive structural evolution of the Cathedral began in the 13th century, highlighting in the 15th century the definitive merger with the main building of free-standing constructions such as the Micalet Bell Tower and the Chapter Hall, currently known as the Chapel of the Holy Chalice.
External cover
Regarding the exterior roof of the Cathedral, it is worth mentioning that the eighteenth-century double-sided terraces were replaced, as they were not an original element of the temple and because they endangered its structure due to their weight, by slightly leaning flat terraces, original roof of the Cathedral that would be restored in the 20th century.
