Introduction

Next to the Cathedral of Valencia is the Queen’s Square.

Zaragoza Street

Formerly the Zaragoza Street circulated in front of the Iron’s Gates, which concentrated a highly vital commercial life.

It was the always crowded road, which connected the small Queen’s Square with the Baroque door of the Cathedral.

Tram

The tram whose line was called “Ruzafa-Sagunto” passed along this street.

Extension

This street remained until the square began to be demolished for its expansion. The demolitions lasted for various reasons until 1960.

Inauguration

Officially the Queen’s Square, after Zaragoza and, finally, of the Queen, was inaugurated on the Fallas festival of 1970.

From the Cathedral’s rooftops
