Cathedral choir
Music of the CathedralThe choir made its debut at the same cathedral in 2002, on the feast of Saint Vincent Martyr.
Most of its repertoire is of a sacred nature, belonging to the cathedral music fond. It has the collaboration of the Valencia City Council, as well as the Valencian Institute of Culture of the Generalitat Valenciana.
In its effort to recover Valencian music, the recordings of works by Ginés Pérez de la Parra, Juan Bautista Comes, Juan Cabanilles, José Pradas and Francisco Morera stand out.

Likewise, in the field of early music, the choir’s collaborations with Capella de Ministrers and the Choir school Our Lady of the Forsaken of Valencia stand out in the interpretation of the Canto de la Sibil·la Valenciana; with the Valencia Orchestra it has performed on several occasions “Messiah” by Haendel, under the direction of Fabio Biondi and Nicholas Kok; the “Passion according to Saint John” by J. S. Bach; and the “Christmas Oratorio” by J. S. Bach under the orders of the master Ton Koopman.
As a symphonic-choral formation, the cathedral choir regularly collaborates with the Valencia Orchestra, under the baton of conductors such as Yaron Traub, Rafael Frúchbeck de Burgos, Miguel A. Gómez-Martínez, Michel Plasoon, Christian Badea, Juan Luis Martínez or Cristóbal Soler.
Also noteworthy are its performances with the Europa Galante band, under the baton of Fabio Biondi, with whom it has collaborated on the operatic productions of “Norma” by Bellini and “Anna Bolena” by Donizetti. In 2015, the choir performed the “Te Deum” by Anton Bruckner with the Valencia Orchestra at the “International Inauguration Festival of the Valencia Cathedral Organ”, under the direction of Yaron Traub.
Since its creation, the Rev. José Climent directed the Cathedral Choir until just a few months before his death, in February 2017.
