Saint Anthony was born around the year 1195 in Lisbon and was baptised with the name of Fernando. When he was a Regular Canon, he contemplated the remains of the first Franciscan martyrs of Morocco and he felt the call to join the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans), changing his name to Anthony. He was a Theology teacher and a popular missionary in Italy and France. After he preached a sermon in Lent, he was exhausted and died in Padua (Italy) on 13th June 1231, which is the day of his liturgical memory. He was canonized very soon and proclaimed Doctor of the Church hereinafter.

Saint Lawrence, deacon of the Church of Rome. He was a martyr in the persecution of Emperor Valerian, four days after his Bishop, Pope Saint Sixtus. Saint Lawrence was executed on 10th August. His feast day is celebrated on the same day.
