The procession of the sacred relic from its chapel to the high altar was a deeply moving moment. As the Holy Chalice took its place at the heart of the liturgy, faithful from across the archdiocese gathered in prayer, united in a visible sign of communion.

This gesture signalled the beginning of a shared journey of grace for the People of God.

This Jubilee Year, under the theme “Holy Chalice of Hope”, recalls the singular gift received in 2014, when the Holy See granted Valencia the status of a holy city and the privilege of celebrating this Jubilee every five years.

In a world often shaped by individualism, the Jubilee calls us back to what truly matters. It invites us to rediscover community and to celebrate together the living presence of the Risen Lord in the sacrament of the altar. It is a timely opportunity to renew both faith and hope, inseparably bound to the mystery embodied by the Holy Chalice.

This marks the beginning of a year-long journey, walking together as pilgrims of hope, open to being transformed through our encounter with Christ in the Eucharist.
