The Confraternity of the Holy Chalice

Archbishop Mr. Marcelino Olaechea y Loizaga promoted, together with the Metropolitan Chapter of Valencia, this distinguished public association of faithful devotees, canonically created at the Cathedral, with statutes approved ad experimentum on March 25, 1952, and definitively, by the Prelate, November 25, 1955.

The first president was Mr. Luís B. Lluch Garín and first canon guardian of the cult to the Holy Chalice, and ecclesiastical assistant of the Confraternity, M. I. Mr. Benjamín Civera Miralles.

The purpose of this association is to encourage the worship and devotion of the Holy Chalice, having promoted works in the chapel and the dissemination of knowledge of the sacred cup with conferences, articles and the book publishing.

Standard of the Holy Chalice Confraternity

Standard of the Holy Chalice
Confraternity.

The Confraternity sponsors and organizes the “Holy Chalice Annual Feast” on the last Thursday of October and the “Thursdays of Holy Chalice”, (except the first one dedicated to the Royal Brotherhood), in which pilgrimages from parishes, civic entities and associations of faithful devotees are welcomed.

It is based in the Cathedral of Valencia.

The bell tower “el Miguelete” is open in autumn-winter (from December 1 to February 28) Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:45 PM, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 6:45 PM.
