When on January 6, 1916, the Holy Chalice was definitively exhibited in the old Gothic Chapter House (14th century), the Archbishop Mr. José María Salvador y Barrera approved in February 1918, the statutes of the “Royal Brotherhood of the Holy Chalice, collegiate body of the Valencian titled nobility”, in order to contribute to the worship of the sacred relic.

The first president of the Royal Brotherhood of the Holy Chalice was Mr. Luís Vich, Baron of Llaurí, co-founder of this illustrious association together with the Baron of Santa Bárbara.

There are many improvements to the Chapel of the Holy Chalice that the Royal Brotherhood has sponsored, which adopted the celebration of the “Thursday of the Holy Chalice” on the first Thursdays of the month.
