26 July. Signature of the contract between Francisco Pagano and Pablo de San Leocadio for the decoration of the Gothic vault with the Cardinal and the Chapter.

The construction of the baroque dome begins 1674

Archbishop Mr. Luís Alonso de los Cameros decided to restore the chapel and the apse, covering the angels.

Work on the Baroque Dome is completed 1682

28 May. The angels of the vault are hidden by a new dome.

It is decided to restore the Great Chapel 2003

9 October, 2003. The President of the Region of Valencia, Mr. Francisco Camps, expressed his wish that the Great Chapel be restored.

Start of restoration works 2004

In May. Through the Foundation “La luz de las imágenes”. Professor Mrs. Carmen Pérez. was in charge of the direction.

Discovery of the angels 2004

22 June. The musician angels are discovered after 300 years of being hidden.

Disassembly of the baroque vault 2005

July. The disassembly of the Pérez Castiel vault begins.

Blessing of restoration 2007

8 February. Homily in the blessing of the restoration of the Renaissance frescoes in the Great Chapel of the Cathedral of Valencia.

The bell tower “el Miguelete” is open in autumn-winter (from December 1 to February 28) Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:45 PM, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 6:45 PM.

The archive is open in the mornings on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, and on Wednesdays also in the afternoon from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and is open from September 15 to July 15.
