The Diocesan Cathedral Museum<\/h2>\n

In the Museum works of art that are not dedicated to worship are preserved, among which are tables, oil paintings, sculptures and pieces of goldsmithing as well as housing a subterranean archaeological remains.<\/p>\n

On the ground floor, Renaissance tables are exhibited, among which the works by Juan de Juanes<\/strong> stand out. You can also see the lectern books dated between the 16th-19th centuries and canvases by famous artists such as Vicente L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, Pedro de Orrente<\/strong> or Mariano Salvador Maella<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The largest custody in the world<\/h4>\n

You can also see the marvellous monumental custody of the Corpus Christi<\/strong> procession, chiseled in gilt silver (1940-1954), which is the largest in the world with its more than five metres high and 600 kilos.<\/p>\n

The Apostles<\/h4>\n

On the second floor you can see the original Gothic images of the Door of the Apostles: Saint Sixtus II<\/strong> and Saint Lawrence<\/strong>, ten apostles and those of Saint Valero<\/strong> and Saint Vincent Martyr<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, in this same room you will be able to admire the oldest panel painting in the Cathedral: \u201cThe Doubt of Saint Thomas\u201d<\/em> by Mar\u00e7al de Sax<\/strong> dated 1400. In the following rooms, you will be able to see the reliquary of the Cathedral as well as canvases by Valencian artists such as Jer\u00f3nimo Jacinto de Espinosa<\/strong> y Ribalta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There is an archaeological excavation to visit, carried out during the restoration of the museum. You can find remains of the Roman, Arab and medieval times, displayed by different layers or strata of the land as the historical stages followed one another and the buildings and the use of the land were superimposed.<\/p>\n
